Professor Londa Schiebinger is one of the most important exponents of the gender, science and technology topic and a renowned science historian from Stanford University. Currently, she is heading the Gendered Innovations in Science, Medicine, and Engineering project, a joint venture of different US institutions and the European Union. Previously, she held the role of director of the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University.
In her talk, Professor Londa Schiebinger will introduce gendered innovations, a cutting-edge approach of using gender analysis in research that can spark creativity. Besides, she will talk about subtle gender biases that women on the technical career ladder face in science institutions.

Changing Research Careers
The recent focus on research careers and, in particular, ongoing efforts to make a career in academia more attractive reflect the fact that universities play an increasingly important role in European society and in the economy.
The Swiss Federal Equal Opportunity at Universities Program has organized the conference "Changing Research Careers" in collaboration with the Office for Gender Equality at the University of Zurich to adress the implications this development has for equal opportunities.
