(HAS TAKEN PLACE) Don't mess with me! - How to react to verbal and nonverbal attacks and offenses

For female identified UZH postdocs and assistant professors

Women are often targeted and belittled verbally and nonverbally during their careers. This ranges from deliberate ignoring, “mansplaining”, exclusion from important networks, intimidation or even sexual harassment. Often they are left speechless and hurt, not knowing how to defend themselves or fight back.

This one-and-a-half-day course focuses on dealing with abuse and attacks. It teaches participants how to respond quickly and effectively, about internal and external boundaries and clever ways to anticipate and counter attacks.

The participants

  • are familiar with possible obstacles on the career path.
  • know the essential rules of foul play and know how to deal with it.
  • have learned to respond skillfully to verbal and nonverbal attacks and fouls, and know techniques for taking attacks less personally.

Target Group
